It was a last minute idea. My friend wanted to escape NYC cold weather for a weekend and we decided to visit Miami which isn't that far from us.
Flight tickets were affordable at the moment, it was late April and she had points with Marriott hotels, so we were all good!
The flight was early in the morning on a Friday, we went directly to the hotel after landing in Miami airport. During our first day in the city we worked remote from our hotel room. We had a small balcony with an ocean window view and the pool view. During the day we took breaks to breath in and soak in the tropical view. Once the work day was completed in the evening another friend join us and we spend the afternoon at the hotel pool and Jacuzzi. We stayed at the Cadillac Hotel & Beach Club | Autograph Collection Hotels.
At night time a friend of my friend, and one of my bestie they join us and we went out, we visit Wynwood district, and check out Dirty Rabbit. We had a great time, love the decor, setting, vibe, music of this place. We had a great night. This is a fun place, totally recommended and they have cool drinks as well.
Saturday in Miami... well honestly was not as expected. We were supposed to do a catamaran tour, but in reality our friend as a mistake did another reservation, she instead booked a sailing tour. There were some issues with the touring company and at the end we couldn't do any of the tours. Sadly we missed most of our day. There was so much traffic that Saturday in Miami, we end up going back to the hotel, to enjoy the rest of the day at hotel beach and the pool.
The hotel have cool, fun pool float that guess can use and play around while at the pool. It was a hot day, sun rays were strong, we end up with a nice tan.
On Saturday we had dinner at Cvi.Che 105 the location on South Beach, there are two more locations in Miami. The food and drinks are delicious, totally recommended and the staff was so friendly.
After dinner we went to The Wharf located at the Miami River. We stay for about 30 to 40 minutes, but we wanted to dance, more like a Latin party place. A friend recommend us El Patio. It was crowded but fun. Love the Latin music at the location.
On Sunday we all were splitting two of my friends were traveling back to their respective homes, I stayed until Tuesday.
Sunday afternoon went around Miami beach with my local friend, end up at The Wynwood Marketplace, casual, fun place. An outdoor venue that have food trucks, a bar, small shopping areas, and sometimes live music.
Technically my weekend end up here. On Monday I worked from home 'at my friend home' and then in the evening moved to my other friend house. It was a time to catch up with friend I haven't seen in a while and then on Tuesday I flew back home early in the morning.
Miami is always a fun vibrant city, if you want to dance, going out, enjoy live - mostly Latin music this is your place to go for sure. Beside the beautiful beaches and the tropical, hot weather there is so many things to do outdoors.
I had a great time with the girls and can't wait to get back together and create new memories.
