Back to Miami for a Weekend

Yes, I do love this city! It's a fun and warm place to be during the winter months, an escape from NYC.

Here are the daily activities we did during our stay in Miami:

South Beach

Collins Avenue / Ocean Drive features art deco hotels, galleries, shops, and restaurants. It's a popular area in Miami. Right in front is the beach. All is a walkable distance. Fun area during the day and night.

Vizcaya Museum and Gardens

A National Historic Landmark in Coconut Grove, Miami. The industrialist James Deering built this place around 1914 - 1922 as his winter residency. The house inside and outside is gorgeous and all the details will take your breath away.

It has a spectacular Garden, 10 acres with a view to the

Miami Design District

There are art installations on some of the streets around this area.

The Design District is home to over 130 art galleries, showrooms, creative services, stores, antique dealers, eateries, and bars.

Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park

Another beautiful outdoor area in Miami. Is a 400-acre state park with beach access, picnic tables, bike trails, and watersport rentals.

There is a lighthouse at the tip of this island. The beach area is so quiet here, it is a good place for those that look for a more peaceful, relaxing environment at the beach.

Located: Key Biscayne

Caribbean Spirit Catamaran

A fun day activity in Miami for family or friends.

The sailing day includes the use of snorkel equipment, a water trampoline, a water mat, and colorful noodle floats.

They will serve soft drinks, chips, pretzels, and nuts. You are welcome to bring your own food, but no alcohol is permitted or any glass container. Large, wheeler, or hard coolers are not permitted.

Maybe if you are lucky enough you will be able to see dolphins playing on the water. I saw one but didn't get to capture a picture of this cutie.

Location: Departing from Bayside Marina.

Citi Bike Rental

Location: Miami Beach

The bike path is clean and nice, view a view of the beach shore and the boulevard. A fun transportation option and activity in the city.

My friend and I rented the bike for two hours and we love it.

The price is different than NYC. The cost here for two hours is $10.00 per bike.

You can open google map and search for Citi Bike station on your current location if you are in the Miami Beach area and the map will show you all the locations. On each location, there's a terminal "tower" where you can use to rent the bike.

Another way, easy and safe to avoid touching the tower is downloading the Citi Bike app on your phone. There you will be able to make the rental payments and also see all the stations, bikes available, and the app will notify you about the use time as well.

Hollywood Beach

It's a nice beach, with a nice boardwalk, and along are restaurants, hotels, and rental apartments. It has a fun vibe, white sand, and even a volleyball court.

Here are the night activities:

Thursday Night at the Little Havana, Calle Ocho area.

Dinner at the Española Way

Española Way is a historic street between 14th and 15th street on Miami Beach, stretching from Washington Avenue to the western corners of Drexel Avenue. It is a small street, a restaurant street where locals and travelers go to enjoy a nice dinner.

Ball & Chain

This is an iconic place from the 1930s-1950s in the heart of the Little Havana, Calle Ocho in Miami.

Here you can enjoy live-music, Cuban food, and drinks. Is a fun dance place with a great vibe.
